March 2021
21 Day Meditation Challenge
Let’s get together for 21 days of meditation. Each day, from March 11-31, we will sit together (on zoom) for 20 minutes.
When you meditate daily, great things start to happen:
You establish a daily rhythm.
Your brain learns to slow down.
You enjoy 20 minutes of peace and quiet!
You switch from “doing” mode to “being” mode.
You stimulate your parasympathetic nervous system, which helps you reduce stress.
You spend time connecting to the deeper aspects of yourself.
and much more!
The live practices take place at 1:00-1:20 pm (EST) on Zoom. Click here to join the live sessions. (Zoom Password is MARCH2021) The recordings will be posted here on this page afterwards for you to use at any time during the day. HOWEVER- practicing simultaneously with the group is a beautiful experience. The power of each person’s meditation multiplies each other’s. You may feel much more connected if you can make the effort to arrive and practice with the group.
Thank you for signing up. I’ll “see” you on the cushion!
Day 1
Welcome to the course! We begin at the beginning, with a good seated posture, breath, and learning the Ham Sa Mantra.
Day 2
Effortless Effort.
Day 3
The Jyestha is the inward moving current. We ride this current inside to switch our attention from the outside world to our inner experience.
Day 4
Kula is the community of the heart. We come together to support each other!
Day 5
Reverent Repetition helps create a positive “groove” or Samskara.
Day 6
Silence
Day 7
What happens in your brain when you meditate? You’ll shift from alpha waves to theta waves, which helps to generally boost your creativity and problem-solving skills. Woo hoo!
Day 8
Nadi Shodhana Pranayama before silent meditation may help to bring about a greater sense of balance and ease.
Day 9
The Embodiment Current helps you feel calm and grounded, and reminds you that the Universe is choosing to manifest itself as you.
Day 10
The Liberation Current. We all long for freedom and Union with the Divine.
Day 11
Love. Bring love into your heart with this simple exercise.
Day 12
Is there such a thing as a perfect meditation? Yes! In Sanskrit, the word for perfection is the same as the word for fullness, Purnatva. It’s so full, it includes lack. It’s so perfect, it includes imperfection. Let’s try it.
Day 13
Meditation is the daily reminder to pause, slow down, and connect to the deeper aspects of yourself.
Day 14
Kapalabhati Pranayama before meditation helps to wake you up if you’re tired, and sends prana (life force energy) through your body up into your head. It’s better than a shot of espresso!
Day 15
Your body is programmed for healing. Meditation helps!
Day 16
Soma= nectar. In this meditation, we practice Chandra Bedhana Pranayama prior to meditation to invite the reflective quality of the moon to help increase the soma.
Day 17
Meditation is like dyeing cloth. You have to do it again and again for it to take hold.
Day 18
Discipline is remembering what you want!
Day 19
Metta is loving-kindness. Taking time each day to meditate is one way you can practice being good to yourself! We’ll do a Metta meditation at the end of our silent practice today.
Day 20
Tap into your inner power with meditation
Day 21
Meditation takes you into the threshold- the place where the individual and the universal touch.
